1. Make sure that you have a review/appraisal process in place which is based on a set of questions which will allow you to monitor and measure success and plan a training route for the future.
2. Make sure that all staff have clear objectives, both in terms of what is expected of them in their daily work, as well as for the company as a whole.
3. Have a company ethos which celebrates success….no matter how small !
4. Identify something every day that can be praised.
5. Make sure that everyone feels included in the team. This may be as simple as inviting another person toyour table during your coffee break.
6. Make sure you give feedback whenever possible.
7. Make sure that all staff feel that they contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the company.
8. Get customers input on new ideas/services.
9. Ask people if they are happy. If not, why not ? Try to do something to resolve it.
10. Give staff clear guidance and a clear set of objectives as often as they need them. Some people need to be micro-managed, some people are more able to work independently.
